Joining the World Oil Merchants Conference III with Wang Hong

Mr Wang Hong, the Executive Vice President of China Merchants Group was invited to the World Oil Merchants Conference III on 17-18 October 2019 in Zhoushan. During which, meetings on cooperation, development and sharing opportunities in the oil and gas market was held between Wang, Fan Xiaoning, the Deputy General Manager of the Zhejiang Energy Group (ZEG),  Yu Baocai, the Deputy General Manager of the Sinopec Group (Sinopec), Sun Dalu, the Assistant General Manager of CNOOC Group (CNOOC), Li Shuirong, the Chairman of Rongsheng Petrochemical and Zhong Ren, the Vice President of the Sinochem Group. Mr Xie Chunlin and Mr Xu Hui, who are Chairman and Vice President of CMES respectively, also attained the meetings.
 
During the meeting with ZEG, Mr Fan Xiaoning has made an introduction on the development of the company in recent years, and Wang hoped to facilitate and explore more chances with LNG in oil transportation as well as the LNG supply chain. Both parties agreed that cooperation would be the best way to leverage each of their own advantages in the sector.
 
In the talks with Sinopec, Wang pointed out that the collaborations between CMES and Sinopec should lie on a stronger strategic quality and should draw up long term plans for further cooperations on crude oil marine transportation. They both agreed to strengthen the efficiency in managing marine fuel oil and lubricating oil, and work on projects related to the vessel refueling business in the Hambantota Port. Yu agrees that only by communicating more and with deeper cooperation, can the two Groups unleash their advantages for more mutual benefits.
 
In the meeting with CNOOC, Wang and Sun both expressed their will in tightening the existing relationship of the two Companies on oil transportation, LNG supply chain and offshore engineering. They both agreed a tighter bound would promote a brighter future for the Groups.
 
In the meeting with Rongsheng Petrochemical, Wang wished the other party a great success in integrating and operating the existing supply chain which worths 40 million tons of refinery and chemical components in terms of size in the proceeding project. It is expected that further collaboration in oil and chemical transportation, logistics, supply chain management as well as researches will complement both sides for getting a better position in the sector.
 
For the meeting with Sinochem, Wang expressed his astonishment towards Sinochem’s strategy in understanding the market trends, and hoped to deepen and diversify the ways both parties collaborate in the oil transportation sector. Zhong also appreciated the substantive cooperations between the two for all the years and wishes to bring it up to a higher level.
 
On the other hand, Wang also promoted CMES’ financial and agency business in Zhoushan during all the meetings, and he hoped to get more support and positive responses from all the attendees.
 
And more, Xie also gave a focal explanation to the development direction of CMES’ shipping business, and showed gratitude to major clients for all the supports they have been making to CMES’ past and future projects.
 
Attendees included Mr Hu Bin, the Assistant to the CMES President and General Manager of AMCL, Mr Zhou Bin, the General Manager of Nanjing Tanker Corporation (NJTC), Mr Li Wei, the Assistant President of China Merchants Bank Hangzhou Branch, Mr Chen Xiao, the President of China Merchants Bank Zhejiang Free Trade Zone Zhoushan Branch, as well as Mr Yu Jianfeng, the General Manager of Sinotrans Zhoushan Branch.
