In 1872, the China Merchants Steam Navigation Company was officially established. It marked the birth of the first large-scale shipping company in modern China. In 1873, ADEN, the first commercial vessel of China Merchants, officially set sail. After that, the inland river, offshore and ocean routes were opened one after another, and the Chinese national shipping industry has since embarked on a new voyage.
