CMES Shipping actively fulfills its social responsibilities by practicing the "Hailiao Spirit" of patriotism, dedication and revolution:

Charitable Contributions: Since 2009, the company has made continuous donations to the China Merchants Foundation, with total contributions nearing 80 million RMB. It also established the "Hailiao Fund" to encourage maritime students to participate in social practice and public welfare activities. 

 

Industry Recognition: CMES Shipping has earned numerous accolades, including the 2019 BIMCO "Best Shipping Company of Greater China Area" award, the 2021 "Model Enterprise" and "Model Project" honors from the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council (SASAC), the 2022 "Special Contribution to Shipping" from the Zhenghe Maritime Awards, and the 2023 Forbes "ESG Case of the Year". In 2024, the Company was named to Fortune China's "ESG Impact List" and received 18 awards including Caijing Evergreen Awards' "Innovation in Sustainable Development Award".

Global Engagement: Since 2021, CMES Shipping has hosted the World Maritime Merchants Forum in Hong Kong for four consecutive years. In 2024, the Forum released the industry's first ESG evaluation standards and established the Smart Carbon Reduction Consortium. The Forum has become a flagship event and a key platform for promoting progress and prosperity across the global maritime supply chain, further reinforcing Hong Kong's position as an international shipping hub.

Maritime rescue: CMES has carried forward humanitarianism and passed love bravely and selflessly on the blue sea.

CMES' Pacific Prospect delivered container homes for earthquake victims from Qatar in 2023. 

CMES' VLCC New Solution rescued a fishing boat off the coast of Panama. All 4 Panamanian crew members were rescued in 2023. 

Great Triumph saved two persons in water in Morocco, Africa, in 2022.

Pacific Activity provided fuel oil to a German sailboat in danger in the North Atlantic Ocean in 2021.

Changhang Honghai participated in the rescue of a helicopter that crashed into the ocean on September 30 in Lianyungang in 2021.

Pacific Spirit saved a German seafarer from a wrecked sailboat in the Indian Ocean in 2016. The Transport and Housing Bureau (which has been split into the Transport and Logistics Bureau and the Housing Bureau) of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, the Marine Department of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (SAR), and the Hong Kong Shipowners Association jointly granted it the "Bravery Award".
