3 November 2022 - Feng Boming, Executive Vice President of China Merchants Group (CMG), inspected the tanker and bulk shipping of CMES Shipping in Hong Kong. Associated Maritime Company (Hong Kong) Limited (AMCL) and Hong Kong Ming Wah Shipping Co., Ltd. (HKMW) made their reports separately. He also put forth requirements for the high-quality development of oil and bulk shipping to the two companies, while at the same time recognizing their good performance in seizing opportunities and conducting robust operations.
More specifically, he required AMCL to reinforce its research and judgment on future market trends, plan the scale of its fleet more reasonably, maintain current market advantages to make differentiated competition, make full use of its advantage in scientific research on green and low carbon, and explore various approaches to clean energy in a vigorouse manner.
Meanwhile, HKWM, as an influential shipping company in dry bulk shipping, should also strengthen its market research and judgment, actively lead the market, and make more of an effort to develop its business capacity, seize market opportunities, and coordinate internal and external resources to achieve mutual complementarity.
Mr Feng emphasized that CMES Shipping is expected to align with comprehensively advanced practices in the industry, analyze and improve weaknesses, clarify its direction, and consistently go beyond itself. Moreover, the Company should keep in mind its missions and responsibilities during this new journey to make strides toward becoming a world-class shipping enterprise, pursue high-quality development, and contribute to maintaining a smooth maritime supply chain.
