20 December 2022 - Chang Sheng Hong of CMES Shipping carried approximately 3,000 commercial cars of domestic automobile brands to head to the Red Sea from the Shanghai Port, which symbolizes the launch of the "Shanghai-Red Sea" International Route of China Merchants RORO's fleet.

Currently, a Ro-Ro ship that can carry 4,000 cars has been applied to this route to offer transmission services. The unloading ports in the Red Sea include the Jeddah and Aqaba Ports.

Saudi Arabia, a major economy in the Middle East, became China's second largest automobile export market in 2021. The route to the Red Sea will play an increasingly important role in the global supply chain of the automobile industry, as Chinese automobile enterprises are accelerating to expand overseas markets.

CMRORO's fleet, based on both domestic and foreign trade, has vigorously integrated into the dual circulation strategy (which means China should rely on a robust cycle of domestic demand and innovation as the main driver of the economy while maintaining foreign markets and investors as a second engine of growth). Specifically, it has developed the international Ro-Ro routes to the Persian Gulf, Southeast Asia, and the Red Sea to keep turning its network of international Ro-Ro routes tighter. Meanwhile, constant efforts have been exerted to enhance its transport capacity so as to meet customer demands with logistics services that are professional, safe, and efficient.
