30 January 2023 - CMES Shipping held the 2023 Annual Meeting in Shenzhen. Feng Boming, Executive Vice President of China Merchants Group (CMG) delivered a speech; Capt. Xie Chunlin, Chairman of CMES, made a speech; Wang Yongxin, President of CMES, made a work report. Cao Hong, Chairman of the Board of Supervisors of CMES, chaired the meeting and conveyed the key points of CMG's annual meeting. CMG's relevant leaders and representatives, the leadership of CMES, the management personnel above the middle level of CMES' headquarters, and the leadership of subsidiaries also attended the meeting in the main session in Shenzhen and the parallel video sessions in Hong Kong, Shanghai, Wuhan, Singapore, and Germany.

Xie Chunlin delivered a speech titled Stick to Original Aspirations and Business Philosophy and Create New Opportunities Based on Centennial Shipping. He expressed that CMES achieved a record high in 2022. Furthermore, he raised specific requirements for the work in 2023: First, CMES should always adhere to "business progress" and promote the progress of the times with commercial success. Second, it should stick to "open business" and strengthen its global competitiveness based on high-level internationalization. Third, the Company is expected to observe "corporate philanthropy" and create value for society through practical actions. Fourth, it should constantly make "business innovation" and activate new development impetuses through scientific and technological innovation. Fifth, CMES should always conduct high-quality team building to guide high-quality development. Wang Yongxin delivered a work report titled Make Progress While Maintaining Stability and Accumulate Strengths to Make a Stride toward a World-class Shipping Enterprise Based on High-quality Development and made specific arrangements for the work in 2023. CMES' general working ideas for 2023 include: Comprehensively implementing the key points of the 2023 Annual Meeting, exerting efforts for "business progress, open business, corporate philanthropy, and business innovation", sticking to the general tone of making progress while maintaining stability, seize the period, accumulate strengths to respond to changes, resolutely implement CMG' strategies, firmly serving the overall situation, taking root in Hong Kong, strengthening CMES through talent and practicing innovation-driven development, balancing between development and safety, decidedly making a stride toward a world-class shipping enterprise based on high-quality development. Additionally, he reported the selection and use of leaders at the meeting. A democratic appraisal of the leadership of CMES was also carried out.
