8 February 2023 - Xie Chunlin, Chairman of the Board of Directors of China Merchants Energy Shipping (CMES SHIPPING), visited Wuhan University of Technology (WUT). He visited the university's key navigation education facilities, the Maritime Museum, and the Nautical Digital Planetarium, and talked with President Yang Zongkai and Vice President Wu Chaozhong of WUT. Both parties deeply exchanged views regarding the cultivation of marine talent, energy conservation and emission reduction, and scientific and technological innovation. 

Xie Chunlin hoped that both parties could continue to deepen cooperation in the education and training of marine talent and the goals of peak carbon emissions and carbon neutrality, and contribute to the building of China into a strong transport power and the cultivation of highly-competent talent.

Yang Zongkai looked forward to comprehensively strengthening the cooperation with CMES and making a greater contribution to the development of the shipping industry.

In recent years, both parties have closely cooperated in the cultivation of marine talent. Particularly, WUT, as CMES' important partner in talent strategies, has cultivated high-caliber marine talent for the latter.
